Build Process

From brief to Play Store in six steps.

Every app follows this path. Typical timeline: 10–16 weeks depending on feature complexity.

Step 1 - Week 1–2

Discovery & scope

Feature list, user flows, API contract, platform decisions (Android first, or both), and budget confirmation. We build a Figma prototype before writing a line of code.

Step 2 - Week 2–4

UI design in Figma

All screens designed in Figma - onboarding, home, product/listing, detail, cart/booking, checkout, profile, and admin views. Two revision rounds before handoff to dev.

Step 3 - Week 4–10

React Native build

Navigation, screens, state management, API integration, payments, push notifications. Weekly builds delivered to your physical device via TestFlight or APK sideload.

Step 4 - Week 8–11

API & backend integration

All API endpoints connected and tested. Auth flows (JWT, OAuth2, OTP), payment webhooks, push notification triggers, and error handling baked in from the start.

Step 5 - Week 11–13

Testing & QA

Device testing across Android versions (API 26–34). Flow testing: onboarding, checkout, error states, offline behaviour, and deep link handling. You get a test report before release build.

Step 6 - Week 13–16

Store submission & launch

App signing, AAB/APK production build, Play Store listing (screenshots, description, category, content rating), submission, and review tracking. We manage the entire publish process.

Start Your App
Do you build for Android only, or iOS too?
Both. React Native produces a single codebase that compiles natively for both Android and iOS. Most clients start with Android for faster iteration and lower Apple developer cost, then add iOS in a second phase or simultaneously. We handle both store submissions.
Do you use Expo or bare React Native?
Bare React Native - no Expo for production apps. Expo limits native module access and does not support the 16KB page alignment required by Google Play since August 2024. We scaffold fresh with RN 0.77.2 so your app passes Play Store review without workarounds.
We already have a web backend (CI4/Laravel/Shopify). Can the app connect to it?
Yes - this is the most common setup. We build a REST API layer on your existing backend and connect the app to it. If your backend does not have API endpoints yet, we add them. Shopify has a well-documented Storefront API that we have integrated with directly on Royal Viraasat.
How long does Play Store approval take?
Typically 3–7 business days for a new app on a new Play Console account. Subsequent updates are usually 1–2 days. We submit with a complete listing - screenshots, description, privacy policy, content rating - to avoid rejection delays. We manage the entire submission process.
What do we need to provide to get started?
A brief describing what the app does, who uses it, and what the core user flows are. Competitor references help. We do not need a full spec - we ask the questions that build one. Access to your backend API (or we build it). A Google Play Developer account (Rs 2,500 one-time registration - we can guide you through it).
Do we own the source code?
Yes. Full repository access is handed over at project completion. You own the code, the store listing, the signing keys, and the Play Console account. We do not retain any rights or access after handover unless you engage us for ongoing maintenance.
