Packaging Design

product experience.

Product packaging design for D2C and retail brands - box design, label design, and unboxing experience, delivered as print-ready files with accurate die-lines. For D2C brands, the unboxing moment is often the first physical touchpoint a customer has with your brand - it should feel intentional.

The Problem

Packaging that looked great in Photoshop, wrong in production.

No accurate die-line file

A flat design mockup with no structural die-line means the printer can't produce it correctly - text ends up on fold lines, elements get cut off.

Colours print differently than expected

A design created in RGB (screen colour) instead of CMYK (print colour) comes back from the printer looking dull, muddy, or completely different from the digital mockup.

No bleed area - elements get cut off

Design elements placed exactly at the edge without a bleed margin get trimmed unevenly during production, leaving thin white lines at the edges.

Locked to a single vendor's proprietary format

Files delivered in a format only one specific printer can open, meaning switching print vendors requires redesigning from scratch.

No mockup for marketing use before production

No realistic 3D render to use in Meta Ads, product listings, or social media before the physical packaging is even printed and available.

Generic packaging that doesn't reflect the brand

A plain box with a printed sticker instead of packaging designed to feel like a natural extension of the brand identity customers see online.

What We Design

Six packaging design capabilities.

Box & Carton Design

Shipping boxes, product cartons, and mailer boxes designed with accurate die-lines - structurally correct for whatever printer or vendor you work with.

Label & Sticker Design

Product labels for jars, bottles, and pouches - CMYK colour-accurate, sized correctly for standard label printer specifications.

Unboxing Experience Design

Tissue paper, thank-you cards, and interior packaging elements designed as a cohesive sequence - the moments between opening the box and reaching the product.

3D Mockup Rendering

Photo-realistic 3D renders of your packaging for use in Meta Ads, product photography, and marketing materials before physical stock arrives.

Die-Line & Print Prep

Structural die-lines with correct bleed, safe zones, and fold marks - files any print vendor can produce without back-and-forth clarification.

FAQ

Packaging design questions.

Do you handle printing and production too?
No - we design print-ready files, but production is handled by your chosen printer or packaging vendor. We can recommend vendors we've worked well with if you don't already have one.
Do I need to already know my exact box dimensions?
If you have a specific box or product size in mind, that speeds things up. If not, we can work with your printer's standard sizes or help identify appropriate dimensions based on your product during the scoping call.
What file format will we receive?
Print-ready files in AI or PDF format with correct CMYK colour, bleed, and die-line markings - a format any printer can open and produce from, not locked to one specific vendor.
Can you match our existing brand colours accurately?
Yes - if you have existing Pantone or brand colour codes, we design to those exact specifications. If your brand colours only exist as screen (RGB/hex) values, we convert to the closest accurate CMYK equivalent for print.

Make the box worth opening.

Print-ready files, 3D mockups, and die-line accuracy - every time.
