Why Email Underperforms

Six reasons your email list is not generating revenue.

A list is not a strategy. Most brands have subscribers they are either ignoring, burning out, or emailing with the wrong content at the wrong time.

No automation - every email is manual

Someone signs up and gets nothing for a week because nobody remembered to send a welcome email. No abandoned cart sequence, no post-purchase flow. Every revenue opportunity that does not require manual work is being missed.

Sending the same email to the whole list

A promotional email for a product category sent to subscribers who bought it last month, subscribers who never opened the last 5 emails, and VIP customers - all the same message. No segmentation means lower relevance, higher unsubscribes, worse deliverability.

Landing in spam or promotions tab

Domain not authenticated - no SPF, DKIM, or DMARC. Sending from a free Gmail address. High spam complaint rate from a cold or bought list. Emails reaching subscribers who will never see them.

Emails that look broken on mobile

Over 60% of email opens happen on mobile. An email designed at 600px on desktop that renders as a tiny compressed block on a phone - with text too small to read and CTA buttons too small to tap - loses those readers immediately.

Declining open rates - list going cold

The list has 10,000 subscribers but only 800 open anything. The unengaged majority is dragging deliverability down for the engaged minority. No re-engagement campaign, no list hygiene, no suppression of chronic non-openers.

Open rate is the only metric being tracked

Open rate is unreliable since Apple MPP. Click-through rate, conversion rate, and revenue attributed to email are the numbers that matter. If none of those are being tracked, the channel has no accountability.

What We Build

Six email capabilities we set up and manage.

Automation Flows

Welcome sequence, abandoned cart recovery, post-purchase follow-up, browse abandonment, win-back flow for inactive subscribers, and VIP tier upgrade triggers. Built once, run forever. Revenue without repeated manual effort.

FAQ

Questions about email marketing.

Do not have a list yet? Talk to us about list building strategy first.

Set Up My Email Programme
We do not have an email list yet. Can you still help?
Yes. We set up the platform, deliverability, and automation flows so they are ready to fire the moment subscribers come in. We also help with list building strategy - signup forms on your website, exit-intent popups, post-purchase opt-in on Shopify, and lead magnets for B2B. Starting with automations live means the list starts earning from day one rather than building for months first.
Brevo or Mailchimp - which should we use?
Brevo for CI4 and Laravel backends - it has a better API and transactional email combined with marketing email in one platform, and the free tier is generous. Mailchimp for Shopify - the native integration is better and the eCommerce segmentation tools are stronger. If you are already on one, we work with what you have unless there is a clear reason to migrate.
Our open rates are around 15%. Is that fixable?
15% open rate usually points to one or more of: a cold list that has not been emailed consistently, poor deliverability from missing authentication records, subject lines that do not create curiosity, or a large inactive segment dragging the average down. We audit the account first and identify which. List hygiene - suppressing chronic non-openers - alone often raises open rates by 10–15 points within two months.
Can you connect email with our Shopify or CI4 platform?
Yes. Shopify connects natively to Mailchimp and via API to Brevo - order data, purchase history, and abandoned cart triggers all flow automatically. For CI4 and Laravel platforms, we build a Brevo API integration that syncs contact data and triggers automation flows based on platform events. This is part of our API Integration service and can be scoped separately.
Do we own the list and the account?
Yes - always. The Brevo or Mailchimp account is under your login. The subscriber list is yours and can be exported as a CSV at any time. We access it as a collaborator. If you end the engagement, we hand over access and documentation - we do not lock anything in our own account or retain any access after offboarding.
How is email different from WhatsApp for customer communication?
WhatsApp is better for transactional messages - order confirmations, shipping updates, OTPs - where immediacy matters and the message is one-to-one. Email is better for longer-form content, product discovery, newsletters, promotions, and automation flows where the inbox is less disruptive. Most brands benefit from running both: WhatsApp for order communication, email for engagement and revenue-driving campaigns.

Your list is an asset. Start treating it like one.

Automation flows built once. Campaigns sent monthly. Revenue attributed. No algorithm decides who sees your message.
